Ecomondo 2025: Italy Strengthens Its Global Green Leadership

Ecomondo 2025 Italy green economy edition closed in Rimini with record participation. The event highlighted Italy’s role as a global hub for sustainable innovation and circular economy solutions.

The event, organized by Italian Exhibition Group, attracted 110,745 visitors and 10% more international participants. This confirmed its role as a strategic crossroads for sustainable development across Europe and the Mediterranean. Over 1,700 exhibitors (18% from abroad) and 800 hosted buyers from 65 countries transformed the Rimini Expo Centre into a vibrant marketplace for new technologies and cross-border partnerships.

This year, Proaxxes proudly represented the Netherlands Pavilion. It facilitated the participation of Dutch companies under the PIB program “NLWaterTech2Italy”, a national initiative promoting Dutch water technology innovation in the Italian market.

Ecomondo 2025 Italy Green Economy: A Global Platform for Circular Innovation

With over 200 events and 3,800 business matchings, Ecomondo 2025 served as the central meeting point for research, enterprises, and policymakers driving the green transition.

The fair’s agenda covered critical raw materials, e-waste management, circular textiles, bioenergy, AI-driven resource monitoring, and the blue economy. Notably, this edition emphasized international cooperation, particularly in the Mediterranean and African regions. Initiatives like the Africa Green Growth Forum and the Mattei Plan promoted access to clean energy and sustainable growth.

Minister Gilberto Pichetto Fratin described Ecomondo as a “symbol of innovation and sustainability.” He highlighted Italy’s global leadership in recycling and resource recovery: “The greatest mine we have lies in our waste,” he stated.

In this dynamic international environment, Proaxxes and the Dutch Embassy curated the Netherlands Pavilion. They brought together forward-thinking Dutch companies specializing in water efficiency, treatment, and smart monitoring solutions.

Under the PIB “NLWaterTech2Italy” program, these firms showcased practical innovations to support Italy’s ongoing water transition. They focused on reducing distribution losses, improving sludge valorisation, and integrating digital platforms to optimize water-resource management.

Furthermore, Proaxxes facilitated targeted B2B meetings. These aligned Dutch innovation with Italian industry needs. As a result, it became a clear example of how cultural and commercial mediation turns innovation into opportunity.

Ecomondo provided the ideal platform for Proaxxes’ mission: transforming sustainable innovation into lasting market success. Beyond the fairground, Proaxxes ensures that collaborations from Rimini evolve into structured partnerships, pilot projects, and joint ventures within Italy’s growing circular economy.

Our role extends from market entry strategy and partner scouting to public-tender participation and regulatory navigation. This 360° approach ensures that international innovators become integral contributors to Italy’s sustainability ecosystem.

A Forward-Looking Vision
