Watersens: Innovating Water Management in Italy
The Watersens water management project in Italy is transforming how water is managed through nature-based solutions and digital technologies. Among its 16 international partners from six European countries, Acque SpA — a leading water utility in Tuscany — plays a key role in testing innovative decentralized water systems.
Its pilot initiatives focus on:

- Green Walls – promoting greywater reuse;
- Vegetated Roofs and Urban Cisterns – collecting rainwater for non-potable uses.
Moreover, by combining traditional infrastructure with Watersens water management strategies, Italy is setting an example for sustainable and resilient water practices across Europe. This approach enhances resilience against droughts, floods, and climate change.
