Trade Mission Yacht building 2018
Italy and the Netherlands are leading countries in the global boats and yachts market. In Italy, the business related to the shipping sector is of great importance, with a value of over 40 billion euros and a 2,6% contribution to the GNP. The industry associated with the maritime sector consists of important segments, including the construction of mega yachts.
A survey of the most important shipbuilding and yacht building industries in Europe and North America shows that Italy is in first place in terms of number of companies and second place in terms of turnover. Moreover, Italy has the highest number of ship companies in relation to the total population.
Proaxxes, together with HISWA Holland Yachting Group and the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, organized a trade mission in the yacht building sector. From 9 to 11 April 2018 Dutch suppliers had the opportunity to meet Italian shipyards in order to make new contacts and create future collaboration.
The mission focused on promoting trade and cooperation between the two countries, strengthening the companies’ positions on the global market.
The Dutch delegation visited the most important shipyards in Viareggio (Sanlorenzo, Perini and Viareggio Super Yacht), Livorno (Benetti), Carrara (The Italian Sea Group), La Spezia (Fincantieri and Baglietto), Genova (Amico &Co) and Ancona (CRN and Cantiere delle Marche).
During the trade mission there were opportunities for B2B meetings during the individual matchmaking and networking dinner.
