Amazon bets on Italy: 800 million investments and 1,700 new jobs by end 2018

The new country manager Mariangela Marseglia talks about working conditions, temporary workers, taxes, Prime Now and the run-up to online shopping: “I would like Amazon’s business to be understood and not to just be seen as the American giant”.

Amazon will invest 800 million euros in Italy in 2018, a sum that in twelve months corresponds to what the e-commerce group invested in the country since its debut from 2010 to 2017. Investments, country manager Mariangela Marseglia explains to La Stampa in her first interview since her appointment, from logistics to personnel will bring 1,700 new jobs. By the end of 2018 Amazon will have 5,200 people employed in Italy.
